Moderately fast-growing evergreen tree forming a large canopy to 30-40’ tall and wide. This attractive variety forms a dense, rounded canopy of lush, glossy foliage exhibiting light-green juvenile leaves contrasted against dark-green mature leaves. Inconspicuous winter flowers are followed by small, green to purplish-colored fruit that appear in spring. Considered by many to be the premier variety within its species, this vigorous selection is less susceptible to the Cuban Laurel Thrip, a leaf-distorting insect that plagues other species of Ficus. Robust by nature, this variety requires room to mature which should be considered when choosing a planting location. Tolerates coastal conditions and is well-suited as a dense shade or screening tree for parks, open areas or larger-sized landscapes. Prefers regular watering in a well-drained soil, and thrives in a full sun exposure. Deer resistant.
