Adding further appeal is the attractive furrowed bark that matures to a light-gray with age. Inconspicuous chartreuse-colored spring flowers are followed by 1-1 ½” round spiky seed pods that persist through fall which should be considered when choosing a planting location. This attractive variety tolerates a variety of soil types is resistant to Oak Root Fungus and is well-suited as a shade lawn park or street tree. Prefers regular watering in a well-drained soil and a full sun exposure.
